ANALYSIS

Located in the centre of on of Warsaw’s suburban districts area with impressive communication and spacial potential. Besides few facilities like district municipality or local church area is populated with either very poor condition buildings or highly unaesthetic relicts of social realism period in Poland. Part of area is used for the self organised flower and food marked which suggested social need for this kind of activity. Also, surrounding areas urban content ( mainly ‘80 multi-housing blocks ) is showing overpopulated character and need for new housing developments in the area. Vital and functional district centre can be created by providing 24h human activity potential for the area. To achieve that goal functions of commerce ( shops, offices ), housing and culture must be combined into one urban organism.

MATERIALIZATION

Designed are had been initialy divided into 3 parts: west triangle of housing, south office complex and north east commercial development, all of which have been merged with large open linear plaza which stands for communication and human interaction catalyst of the are. Surrounded by some additional cultural functions like theatre and art gallery it has a value bigger than just a plaza. All the main directions, like open-air shops passage are merging together and mixing between green and water sculpture at the square.
