DESIGN GOAL
Singular architectural design as an outcome of fundamental urban analysis and revalorisation plan of area.
ANALYSIS
“Powisle” is a district of Warsaw (Poland) situated between city centre and the Vistula river, which is cutting a whole city into west end east site ares. Because of its position (river side) and the fact that is situated much lover but still in the direct neighbour of the centre, “Powisle” holds grate potential for development of high class apartments, cultural objects and educational facilities. It already contains University of Warsaw main library, few minor faculties, and popular science centre “Kopernik” all of which works as huge attractors for the area. Area is also know from urban blossom of fashionable cafeterias, clubs, and shops.
Despite that, Powisle still carries after war scars in the urban tissue. Lack of global planing makes it exposed to commercial development pressure and structure degradation

DESIGN SITE
Design site was picked as a small part of overall district restructuring plan. Situated at the boundary of the district, small site next to the metro station and buss stop, almost directly at the river site. Surrounded by luxurious housing development and some minor administration building builds second plan visible after crossing the river, and at the same time small urban gate to the district.
Taking advantage of its location and small size, local office building with the ground level of shops end boutiques (accessible from inside of the building) was proposed.
